One of the world's fastest -growing bubble -theeem brands has revealed that it is planning to open more than 225 stores in the UK, creating nearly 2,000 jobs.
Gong Cha signed a deal with the company that franchised Costa Coffee in an attempt to reach their goal to open 10,000 locations around the world by 2032.
The first new stores will be open next month in Sidcup, Romford and Hornchurch in London and Gursend in Kent.
Bubble -tea is so called because there are small, sweet balls in the bottom called Tapioca pearls that are tough and the drink is often served cold.
The popular Asian drink has exploded to the British scene, with thousands of stores in the UK that sell variations of the drinks.
Gong Cha, founded in Taiwan, opened his British branch in Manchester and currently operates 13 stores in Britain.
The CEO of Gong Cha, Paul Reyish, joked that the company “can't wait to show the UK how tea is meant.”
Mr Reynish said despite seeing 'fantastic interest' all over the world ', where it made the most to us, the UK, which is one of the most exciting markets for us worldwide. ”

Gong Cha signed a deal with Jinziex – 'a proven and highly respected food and beverage franchise operator' – hoping to dominate the Bubble -tea industry in the UK.
One of the CEOs of the company, Diljit Brar, was an integral part of the 'very successful' scaling of Costa Coffee and hoped that this experience will 'ensure that Gong Cha will become a household name'.
In addition to Mr. Brar, Jinziex is led by Azha Rehman, founder and CEO of Kaspa's Desserts and Steve Falle, director of WY & SF Ltd.
Originally from Taiwan, but now his headquarters in London, Gong Cha is now active in 28 countries with 2,100 locations.
