McDonald’s American fans in a stir through a new menu item that cannot be compared with ‘superior’ original version

The fans of McDonald take their favorite menu items very seriously and will not hesitate to let the fast food giant know when they are unhappy -as they have demonstrated with a stir about a new menu item.

The crispy, peppery chicken selections are a sturdy favorite with McDonald’s customers, with many who have them as ‘elite’ chicken strips.

But while British customers can enjoy it every moment, the people in the US were disappointed when the chain stopped with chicken in 2013 on the menu on the pond.

McDonald’s recently introduced chicken strips in the US – but they are not entirely what the American audience had hoped for.

On May 5, the fast food giant McCrisSpy strips rolled out, described as ‘irresistible desires chicken strips made with juicy, 100% white meat, coated with crispy golden brown burning and cracks with a daring, new black pepper flavor’.

This new version comes as Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s, said that the demand for chicken strips ‘has been remarkable to see throughout the industry’.

In an idea why it took so long to bring chicken strips back to the American menu, she added: “We took our time, listened to our fans and created a product that we knew they would crave.”

But many went to social media to complain that McCrisSpy strips are simply not a party for chicken selections.

The most striking difference is the texture of the battered outside of the chicken strips.

While chicken selections are loved for their seasoned, crispy coating that delivers a satisfactory crunch, McCrisSpy strips have a smoother, much less robust texture -more related to a Mcnugget.

When McDonald’s announced the new chicken menu item in the USAmerican customers were immediately enthusiastic about the prospect that chicken selections may have returned.

However, they are now going to social media to complain about how different McCrisSpy strips are compared with chicken selections -and they do not hold what they prefer.

On RedditA user said: “All they had to do was bring back chicken selections and that would have made everyone happy.”

Another wrote: ‘Select comics were clearly superior. McCrisSpy Strips 2/10 ‘.’

A third added: ‘I thought foolish as someone else said it was the chicken -select strips. Absolutely disgusting. ‘

Even those who thought the McCrisSpy strips taste good, they admitted that they had preferred chicken selections.

“I just had them today and they are honestly disappointing,” said a reviewer. ‘She smelled a lot to select the old chicken while I drove home with them, but they eat … yes, no.

‘Just a boring, strange breaded, non-alles crispy chicken strip! I don’t understand why they are a permanent addition to the menu. I miss Chicken Selects so, so, so, so much !! ‘

Customers also expressed their displeasure in the fast food chain on X, formerly Twitter.

“McDonald’s really played in our face talking about a few damn” McCrisSpy Strips “… We asked for the chicken selection,” one person wrote.

Another hit McDonald’s before stopping chicken selects more than ten years ago, only to bring a different version back.

“You have removed one of the best items from the menu and then had 12 years to come up with a replacement and this is the slop that you have postponed,” they said.

A third questioned: ‘[They’re] Return dinosaurs, dieperwolves, and they can’t return chicken selections ??? ‘

McDonald’s has previously introduced a variation of chicken strips in the American menu in the past, in an attempt to satisfy customers who are still upset about the loss of chicken selection.

In 2017, the Retailer Karnemelk added crispy tenders to the menu. These looked much more like Chicken Selects and were popular with customers – but they were stopped only three years later because of the Covid Pandemie.

However, McDonald’s is with his new McCrisSpy strips despite the criticism.

Cesar Piña, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer at the chain, said in a press release: ‘When we introduce a new menu item such as McCrisSpy Strips, we know that we have a great promise to meet our client’s expectations.

‘From the farms that we assume to how food is prepared in our restaurants, bringing new products for our fans requires cooperation between suppliers, franchisees and business staff.

“We stick to the highest standard and strive to bring fans nothing less than greatness.”
