While the Kennedy Center is reinventing itself for the age of Donald J. Trump, Monday announced that the following season would have a number of big names in Theater and Dance, but also some striking absence. And during a break with the past, the center said it would present different Touring Broadway shows with non -Union -casts.

Artists are divided on whether they should act in the center since President Trump was appointed chairman of his previous two -part council of members after President Trump.

The coming theater season will contain ‘The Outsiders’, who won Tony Award for Best Musical last year, but not ‘Hamilton’, who has canceled a planned run there, referring to a deprivation of the takeover of Mr. Trump. And the dance season includes versions of American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet and the Stuttgart ballet, but not by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, an annual match in the center in recent years, which said in a statement that it would follow a chance next season.

Mr. Trump, who continues to play a major role in trying to reform the center, was expected to meet on Monday evening with the board members and managers of Kennedy Center for dinner in the White House. He was present A board meeting in the center in Marchrecently asked $ 257 million from the congress To help with capital repairs and plans to participate A Gala Fund-Raiser version of “Les Misérables” in June.

The coming theater season underlines some of the changes that unfold in the center. In addition to “The Outsiders”, the tours of “Back to the Future”, “Moulin Rouge!” And ‘Spamalot’, all of which contain virgin casts, as has been standard in the center in recent years.

But two of the tours that will come to the Kennedy Center next season will not contain -Union -casts, which are usually paid less and fewer costs to present: “Chicago” and “Mrs. Doubtfire.”

The Kennedy Center had indicated in March That it expected to turn to Non -Unie Broadway Productions, and on Monday the shift praised as a plus. Richard Grenell, the Trump-Loyalist who now serves as president of the center, told the daily caller, a conservative media outlet: “The Kennedy Center is the most important institution for art in America, so we don’t want to limit the shows available to our audience.

Actors’ Equity Association, the Union that represents actors and theater managers, refused to comment.

Mr. Trump criticized the Kennedy Center On social media earlier this year For “highlighted drag shows that are specifically aimed at our youth.” But that concern did not prevent the ‘Chicago’ center from booking, with a character, Mary Sunshine, who is usually played by a man in Drag, or ‘Mrs. Doughfire’, who is about a man who dresses like a woman. “Moulin Rouge!” Also contains a character, baby doll, who is A Drag Queen.

The dance season includes an eclectic mix of artists, including various prominent ballet companies and much -praised contemporary troops founded by Martha Graham, Trisha Brown and Kyle Abraham.

But the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, which was an annual competition in the center, said it would not perform there next season. The company said in a statement that it had decided to “strive for a chance with a partner who has a worldwide reach” who did not mention it and that it hopes to return in the future.

The board of the center met on Monday for the third time since Mr Trump’s takeover. The board discussed the finances, programming of the center, the building and the land and other matters, according to a copy of the agenda obtained by The Times.
