Emotional scenes played in court after CCTV showed the crushing moment that a smiling Lilie James walked into a school bathroom, followed by her murderer who waits for two minutes with a hammer and listens until he launches his attack.
An investigation into the death of Mrs. James, 21, and her murderer Paul Thijssen, 24, entered the second of three days of hearings on Wednesday.
Mrs. James, Jamie and Peta James' parents were given the opportunity to leave the courtroom while the images were played and were seen outside.
Staatscoroner Teresa O'Sullivan immediately called for a 30 -minute break after the images were played.
The video made in St. Andrew's Cathedral School shows that Mrs. James enters the bathroom on October 25, 2023 at 7.12 pm.
Paul Thijssen is then seen who is approaching the bathroom door with his backpack and holds his hammer in his right hand. At 7.14 pm Thijssen pushes the door open with his left hand and comes in the bathroom.
Immediately after playing the CCTV, the lawyer who helped Jennifer Single broke and said that Lilie smiled in the images and dealt with Paul, there was no indication of what he was going to do '.
Mrs. Single added, breaking her voice: “No matter how often you look at those images, it's not easy to view.”

Two days after Mrs. James was murdered, the body of 24-year-old hockey coach Paul Thijssen, with whom she had had a short relationship, was found in Vaucluse
The video of Mrs. James Final Moments was played in court after other images with an agitated Thijssen who made his last preparations to kill Mrs. James in the half hour before the murder.
Thijssen deliberately steps through the area near the bathroom and can also be seen if he works to cut off all access to the kill site.
He speaks with a night cleaner and waves to a guard while walking 'with pace' and then walks, using a main key to lock access doors to the disabled bathroom of the school where he intends to execute the murder.
The court heard that while Thijssen finished his sinister plan, Mrs. James with some of her students returned from water polo practice in a school bus.
The students would later remember that they had spoken about their favorite music with Mrs. James, who then told them: “I have to go, I have to go to a game.”
At 7.11 pm Mrs. James made a two -second call to Thijssen's Mobile and he walked to the most important foyer of the school and left Mrs. James into the school. They then walked to the gym near the bathroom.
Seventeen seconds later, Mrs. James can be seen that the school room of the school employee leaves with school shorts, a jacket and white runners, and wear a green swimsuit.
Paul then leaves the staff room with his backpack over his right arm.

After a break of half an hour during the legal proceedings, Mrs. James's parents returned to the courtroom and the coroner was told: “I just want to acknowledge how difficult this is and my heart goes out to you.”
Mrs. Single said that the conclusion is that Thijssen told Mrs. James which bathroom to use and before she came in, Mrs. James can be seen to look at the board 'Cleaning in execution' that he was deliberately placed outside the other bathroom.
She said the bathroom door opened something from the inside before Thijssen entered.
“It was at that time that Lilie was attacked and killed. After he entered the bathroom, he attacked Lilie and killed the hammer in the bathroom, “Single said.
“It would have led Lilie to quickly become incapacitated for work and it was not long.”
Mrs. Single said that at that time there were at least twelve people in the school.
Thijssen, who had taken Mrs. James' bag and removed her phone, remained in the bathroom for an hour and 12 minutes after the murder.
At 8.23 pm a message was sent via her phone to her father, Jamie James. It said: “Don't ask why or call now, come to the school now and pick me up.”
Mr. James answered: 'Are you going?
Thijssen then left the murder scene and took the cleaning board that he had placed outside the bathroom and put it outside the bathroom where Lilie's body was in it.

A maximum of 12 people were in St Andrew's Cathedral school when Mrs. James was murdered
He then seemed to place a small knife in his backpack. Jamie tried to call Lilie again and then received another message, sent by Thijssen and said: “Alles just got into problems.” Jamie sms'te frantically, “you can call.” (The conclusion was that the message said 'just come' and 'came' was a typo.)
Thijssen left the school at 8.22 pm, walked calmly through the foyer and entered the parking lot and at 8.33 pm he drove away
Thijssen drove from St Andrews school to Diamond Bay Reserve in Vaucluse without stopping. At 9.49 pm he drove further along the Cliff Top Road in Vaucluse closer to the Cliff Edge. At 9.52 and 9.53 pm he made an electronic $ 9,100 transfer to each of his housemates with the notation 'Six Maugt Rent'.
At 11.15 pm he left the car and walked away to Diamond Bay Reserve.
