‘Dustin Martin was in the Richmond rooms before the (recent) North (Melbourne) game. He looked pretty good and said ‘G’Day’ to his old teammates.
“I am not saying that afl is returning, but a big name will return later this year.”
Cornes added: “Note this space.”
Although he could not inspire the tigers for a victory against the kangaroos, the sight of Martin in the barns heated the hearts of many Footy fans.
The famous withdrawn Martin shook hands with former teammate Tom Lynch – and last month he was seen in West -Australia and got out for lunch with colleague Richmond Great Jack Riewoldt.
Martin made his AFF debut for the Tigers in 2010 – and eliminated a generation talent.
In 302 performances, Martin encouraged 338 goals.
He will go in history as possibly the biggest player ever in Richmond, next to Kevin Bartlett, Jack Dyer and Francis Bourke.
Martin was linked to the Gold Coast Suns at the twilight of his career to play under former coach Damien Hardwick, but the move never came.
