Conor McGregor has announced his bid to become the President of Ireland only a few days after a controversial trip to the White House.
The MMA hunter, who had raped a woman in a civil case in November in November in Dublin, announced his bid with an Instagram post that sees him standing in front of a private jet and wears a Make Ireland Great Again Cap.
The cancellation only comes a few days after McGregor spoke about an 'illegal immigration pack that destroys our country' in the White House.
On Instagram, McGregor wrote: 'Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by 12 June 2026.
'So between now and 12 June 2026, different documents must be adopted by both houses of the Oireachtas and then signed by the president.
“The following presidential election must take place before November 11, 2025. Who will stand up against the government and oppose this bill?
“Any other presidential candidate they try to apply will not be opposed to them, I'll do it!
'For clarity, as a president, I would also bring this bill to the referendum.

Prior to the meeting with Donald Trump, Minister of White House Pers Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in the briefing room: 'We could not think of a better guest to have with us on St Patrick's Day'.
'Although I resist this pact enormously, it is neither mine nor governments to make a choice. It is the people of Ireland's choice! Always! That's a real democracy! '
On Monday, prior to a press conference with Donald Trump, McGregor told an audience that Ireland was close to 'possibly lost its irishing' and was in the Irish government as an administration of 'Zero Action with zero accountability'.
“Our money is spent on overseas issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people,” he said.
McGregor's invitation to the White House came after Donald Trump chose the sportsman last week as one of his favorite Irish people.

Prior to the meeting, Pers Secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt in the briefing room said: 'We could not think of a better guest to have with us on St Patrick's Day'.
McGregor's appearance in Washington DC was criticized by Irish leaders. Taoiseach Micheál Martin said that his comments “did not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, or the views of the people of Ireland.”
Martin wrote on X that the holiday 'a day was rooted in community, humanity, friendship and community'.
Simon Harris, now Deputy Prime Minister, said in a video that was published to social media during a visit to New York: 'It is for President Trump to decide to invite who he wants in his house and he is entirely entitled to what he wishes in connection with whom he decides to invite the White House.
'But let me be very clear: Conor McGregor is not here in the United States that represents Ireland or the people of Ireland. He is here on a personal capacity. He doesn't speak for Ireland. He does not speak for the people of Ireland. He has no mandate to do that and my views on him are very clear. '
McGregor has not yet played a role in the office. But he claimed that he would be the “only logical choice” for President of Ireland.
Ireland is led by an elected president, with Michael D. Higgins currently in his second term.
However, most real political power lies with the Taoiseach, nominated by the Dáil, the Lower House.
In September McGregor placed on X: “As president, I keep the authority to call and resolve the dáil. So as I said before, I would have all the answers that the people of Ireland are looking for from these thieves of the working man, these distorters of the family unit, these destructors of small companies, and so on!
'These charlatans in their dominant positions would be called to answer the people of Ireland and I would have it done during the day.
'Or I would have no choice but to resolve the dáil. Stop the train. The people of Ireland deserve the answers they are looking for. Point empty. This would be my power as a president. I know very well. Ireland needs an active president who is fully employed by the population of Ireland. It's me. I am the only logical choice. 2025 is coming. '
In comments in December 2023, in the midst of turbulent discourse around the Dublin riots activated by the stabbing of three children and a caregiver in the city, McGregor argued for himself as president.

His offer received support from Andrew Tate and Elon Musk, now the cost -saving Tsar from Trump, who replied: 'I think you could take them all with one hand. Not even fair. '
The visit of McGregor to the White House came months after he was civil liable in damage to High Court in Dublin, taken by a woman who accused him of rape.
Nikita Hand, also known as Nikita Ni Laimhin, won her claim against McGregor after accusing the professional hunter of raping her in a Dublin Hotel in December 2018.
Mrs. Hand, 35, received compensation and costs after a three -week process in which the jury found him civil liable for abuse.
A judge at the Supreme Court in Dublin later said that the jury “convincingly established” that McGregor had raped Mrs. Hand.
McGregor appeals to the outcome of the civil case.
