Some have already expired, but some will continue all weekend. We expect the bulk of them to be gone by Monday (July 22nd). If you’re an Amazon Prime member and want to cancel now after you’ve received your goodies, it’s a relatively simple process that you can do via your phone or desktop. While the processes are the same everywhere, they differ depending on where you initiate the cancellation. Please note that when you cancel your Amazon Prime membership, any associated subscriptions will not renew upon expiration. For a more in-depth explanation, check out our cancellation guide.
To cancel your Amazon Prime subscription on your computer:
- Sign in to your Prime account.
- Hover your cursor over the section that says “Accounts & Lists”. This is located in the upper right corner of the screen, near the shopping cart and will return.
- Once in “Accounts & Lists”, look at the list of items under “Your Account”. Scroll down to where it says “Prime membership” and click on it. It will open another menu to choose from. Click on the link under “Manage Membership” called “Update, cancel, and more”.
- Under “End Membership” there will be a button to use “End membership”. Click on this to end your membership. Then confirm the selection.
To cancel your Amazon Prime subscription on a mobile device:
- Select the Amazon Prime icon on your phone.
- Select the icon that looks like a person. On an iOS device, you’ll find it at the bottom. Once you’re there, select the “Your Account” button.
- Scroll down to where it says ‘Account Settings’ and click on the arrow next to where it says ‘Manage Prime Membership’. Another page will open.
- Click on “Manage Membership” on this page to open another menu of options. Click on the arrow next to “Manage Memberships” again to see more options for updating, canceling, and more. This will open another screen.
- Click the button under “End Membership” to cancel your membership. Confirm your selection.
What if I didn’t buy anything?
Paid members who have not used their benefits may be eligible for a full refund of their membership. If you meet these requirements, you may see a refund processed within 3-5 business days.

Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday have many similarities. Anecdotally, Black Friday tends to have better deals on higher-end items like TVs, appliances, and laptops, while Prime Day focuses more on everyday necessities and items under $50.
If you’re looking for a bargain on stuff you’ll likely need year-round, buy it on Prime Day. If you’re looking for those “once a year” deals, Black Friday is probably your best bet.
