A schoolboy has admitted that he killed a colleague teenager after a dispute of more than £ 50.

The attacker, who was then 13, stabbed Kory McCrimmon, 16, in the heart after a confrontation in the East End of Glasgow last 31 May.

The couple was associated with rival gangs with threats that had previously exchanged on social media.

A judge yesterday (TUE) told the young murderer who cannot be called for legal reasons: “If there was ever a case that shows the extreme foolishness of running with a gang, it is this.”

The accused, now 14, appeared in the dock at High Court in Glasgow.

He had initially confronted with a statement of murder.

But his KC John Scullion offered a guilty plea for the reduced accusation of culpable murder during action under provocation.

This was accepted by public prosecutor Greg Farrell.

The murderer stays in chunks of safe unity, in Renfrewshire, while waiting in May.

Before the attack, the boy had involvement of social work because he did not go to school.

Lord Mulholland said there

Lord Mulholland said “if there was ever a case that shows the extreme foolishness of running with a gang, it's this.”

His victim – who had played for Easterhouse Football Academy – had no previous convictions.

The court heard that Kory and his murderer were known as 'rivals' from different gangs.

It was also told that the couple had regular contact with each other on Instagram.

The contact was initially on 'good conditions' before there was more than £ 50.

The court heard that the murderer refused to repay Kory.

Mr. Farrell said: 'The messages became more and more bitter.

“There were insults and threats of violence made by both parties.”

Nevertheless, it seemed to be resolved at a certain moment.

But an Instagram page that was used by various gang members revealed further threats of the 14-year-old on the day of the attack with Kory that responded.

Mr. Farrell said the court that the two parties arranged to meet each other in Greenfield Park and added: 'There is a considerable amount of bravado and postures on both sides in the run -up to the confrontation that was planned.

“The participants in this chat seem to catch each other later that day awaiting a gang fight.”

A large crowd of young people gathered in the park that night, some under the influence, with the murderous part of a gang that stormed in handling clubs, bats and weapons.

They challenged Kory and his friends for a fight.

Mr. Farrell told the court that the 14-year-old once stuck on the chest during the confrontation with a knife that Kory stabbed.

He dropped to the ground while the young criminal and his employees fled.

Called emergency services and the victim was brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of the city, where he died on 2 June.

The attacker ended up in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in the night of the murder and said he had been in a “fight in a park.”

He was then transferred to the same hospital that Kory was inside.

There he was initially arrested for attempted murder. The boy did not comment later when he was interviewed.

His lawyer said that the Court of Appeal that Kory had first taken out with the accused 'respond' by beating him with the knife.

Members of the families for both boys were in court yesterday.

Lord Mulholland told the young murderer that the use of a knife on someone was 'cowardly' and that it is a 'lottery' when the person survives.

In stinging remarks, he added: 'If there was ever a case that shows the extreme foolishness of running with a gang, it is this.

'It's not cool to be a gang member, it doesn't make you a tough guy.

'It doesn't work you hard, if that's something you want to strive.

“I have been in and around these courts for more than 40 years and I have played the tragedy of this case so often.”

Lord Mulholland said that Kory's parents Neil and Elizabeth have received a 'life sentence and loss' for their son.

The judge concluded: 'Everything for a stupid gang fight about a sum of money. It is completely madness. '

Conviction was postponed for reports.
