NPR boss Katherine Maher crossed in the congress while she was questioned about a phone call that she made for white people to pay 'recovery assignments' on social media.
The 41-year-old former Tech-Tycoon was grilled by the Republican Rep Brandon Gill about a message that she had posted on Twitter, now known as X, on January 20, 2020, during a hearing around or NPR federal financing should receive on Wednesday.
'Yes, the north, yes we all, yes America. Yes, our original collective sin and unpaid debts. Yes, reparations. Yes, on this day, “wrote Maher in the 2020 tweet.
Maher initially denied making the comment while he was examined by Gill, but after the legislator read her tweet aloud, she claimed that it had a different meaning.
The former Wikipedia -Baas said that she did not “believe that this was a reference to tax reparations” – which Gill encouraged to indicate “what kind of recovery teases” she meant.
“I think it was just a reference to the idea that we all owe a lot to the people who came to us,” said Maher.
Earlier in the session, Maher also owed the Hunter Biden -laptop story not to give the reporting it earned on NPR.
She made admission after being ruthlessly grilled by Marjorie Taylor Greene on Capitol Hill about the alleged bias of the broadcaster.

“I want to say that NPR acknowledges that we have not covered Hunter Biden's laptop story more aggressively or earlier,” Maher said.
Greene also confronted Maher about some of her more quirky comments.
This included statements written on social media in the past, such as one that struck Donald Trump like a 'racist' and 'sociopath' in 2020.
When asked by Gop Rep. Tim Burchett to such tweets said Maher: 'I am sorry [them] Today.'
The CEO also said that she and her team 'work', when it comes to offering access to reliable reports.

At the time, the owner of a computer store in Delaware, John Paul Mac Isaac, said that the laptop had been left behind by the president's final son.
Yet the story was not taken seriously – that is, until more facts continued to come out that could ultimately not be ignored.

On March 31, 2021, NPR published an article stating that the American intelligence had discredited the story before he had issued a correction the next day – one who said that officials actually never made such a statement.
A federal study was needed that was mentioned the following year for the outlet to take the story somewhat seriously – after verified e -mails revealed Hunter's vision to help a Ukrainian natural gas company without being a lobbyist.
They have also exposed a Chinese energy company with links to the Chinese communist government – one that Hunter Biden made seven figures in a series of business deals.
Meanwhile, Mac Issac told DailyMail.com how he was met in December 2020 with Pushback from government officials while submitting unemployment – something that he considered a targeted pushback of the former administration.

“I would open a case, would not hear anything, then open another case and then open another case – and then I was told to stop opening things,” Mac Isaac told Dailmail.com in December 2022.
“And they would continue to close these cases.”
In September 2021, Mac Isaac also received what he considered threats from the IRS and demanded a so -called overdue $ 57 from a tax return of 2016.
