A female police officer in Miami was suspended after she clearly ignored a crowd of cyclists who attacked a driver in broad daylight.
The Savage Smatting was recorded on surveillance images on 16 March in the middle of a busy intersection between the Adrienne Arscht Center and James L. Knight Concert Hall.
A man who drove a black sedan stopped in the middle of the road, right in front of the patrol car, and seemed to shout against a motorcyclist.
At one point, the man, dressed in jeans, approached a black T-shirt and baseball hat, even the non-videntified police officer and seemed to have a conversation with her before he went back to his vehicle.
While on his way back to his car, more motorcyclists started to surround the man, and within a few moments a swarm of them hit the driver.
The motorcyclists were repeatedly kicking and stamping the man while the police officer watched.
Chaos escalated quickly when the cyclists jumped on the man's car and broke his windshield, while others threw stones at the vehicle.
Several motorcyclists then dragged the man right in front of the police car and continued to beat him up. One of them even threw a bike on top of the driver.

Soon other police officers arrived after a call from a cyclist versus motorist conflict with an attack and tried to break the situation, NBC 6 reported.
It was only then that the female officer decided to get out of her car and walk to the fight.
Some agents attracted the riders just before they all seemed to kick.
The state of the driver is unknown and it is unclear whether one of the motorcyclists has been arrested or charged. The attack is currently being investigated.
The Miami police said that an internal investigation is also underway due to the lack of response from the officer.
Miami Police Chief Manual MORALES said she was released from duty pending the investigation.
“The members of the Miami police understand and are proud to maintain their responsibility to protect and serve our community,” said Morales.
“We have to act for improving our community.”

The cyclists shouted at each other to 'move' and 'overlook' for the loosened vehicle.
The Mercedes-Benz continued to focus on motorcyclists and avoided closing traffic.
A separate clip seemed to show that the same cyclists attacked the car in a parking garage.
A crowd of people stamped the car and hit the windows. Another person in a gray jacket fled the stage while others are after him.
