Wedding days are usually quite stressful and the process of preparations – including who in the bridal party should do what and when – can add to the tension.

Beauty club london Founder Louise Bailey has a solution to this common problem.

As a hair extensions expert with twenty years of experience, she shared what she believes is the best order for the bridal party’s hair to ensure everyone, especially the bride, is happy.

YOUTH AND YOUTHFUL

The people who get their hair done last usually have the least hair and don’t need a complicated look.

“Flower girls and young bridesmaids should be the last to have their hair styled,” Bailey advised.

Simply add “cute angelic curls” or style longer locks into a low bun and let some loose strands fall around the face with a few extra accessories.

The barber said, “You can’t do anything wrong with it,”

SHORT START

The first is not the lady of honor, but anyone with short, fine or straight hair. This type of hair is generally easier to style and holds its shape longer.

“Starting with people with short, fine or straight hair will allow your stylist to find a natural rhythm and spend more time on people with more hair,” Bailey says.

Some of her suggestions for looks include a “simple blowout,” a sleek and straight look, or “some romantic, loose waves.”

Those who prefer to wear their hair up can opt for an elegant low bun or ponytail.

Use hair clips and accessories to create a look all day long.

She said it’s important to embrace your hair’s natural length and texture and not use products that are too heavy.

“However, be careful with more intricate hairstyles on this type of hair, as it can be harder to maintain volume, which can make the hair feel limp over the course of the day,” she added.

LONG AND LONG-LASTING

Next up are people with longer, thicker hair or extensions.

“People with more hair should sit in the chair so they can get the time and attention they need,” Bailey suggested.

“These hair types naturally have more volume, but styling most styles can be challenging and requires more tools and products.”

She recommended adding hair oil to boost shine and combat frizz, while “a setting spray, heat protectant, hot rollers or a curling iron, and a good hairspray will keep it in place.”

If you have naturally long, thick hair, she recommends wearing it down in soft waves or half-up for an effortless look. You can also experiment with textured updos.

Extensions are also a great way to add extra volume.

Clip-ins are easily removed and provide temporary length and volume, while tape-ins “give a seamless look that is lighter on the head.”

“The best looks for people with extensions tend to be loose braids, ponytails, and half-up hairstyles,” she says.

According to Bailey, the trend is leaning toward chic, sleek buns, inspired by Sofia Richie and Vanessa Hudgens, for medium and long hair.

BLUSH BRIDE

First comes the love and then the beautiful bride.

Bailey said that regardless of hair texture type, “it’s always best to do it towards the end.”

This way it stays as fresh and safe as possible before she walks down the aisle.

If possible, hire a separate stylist for the bride so she doesn’t have to wait forever for her hair and there are no delays.

“You don’t want to get your hands on a bridezilla!” Bailey warned.

LAST ADJUSTMENTS

Finally, Bailey said to “always allow extra time for additional side effects.”

This is especially helpful for members of the bridal party who have had their hair done hours before the ceremony.

“This involves checking for any loose hair, re-securing the handles, applying a final bit of hairspray and adding any additional accessories,” she explains.
