A man with blood spotted clothing was arrested after the police discovered the body of a woman in a house in southwestern Melbourne.
Officers were called to a house on Retford Close, across the Bethany Catholic Primary School in Weribe, around 9 am on Thursday.
A neighbor, who wanted to stay anonymous, said she saw a man whose clothes were covered with blood that stood outside the house.
“It was just terrible,” she told the age.
The man, who, according to the police, was known to the woman, was arrested on the spot.
The police are not looking for other alleged perpetrators.
Witnesses reported that they saw a helicopter above the head while the police were descended on the house.
Forensic researchers arrived just after noon to comb the building for instructions.
