Forest and wood prove that you don’t have to reinvent the game, because Europe beckons

I supported many outsiders in my time, but I would not have chosen these two in a million years.
But to be honest, how many of you thought Nottingham Forest would go into the last day with any chance to Champions League?
Probably the same song that only Mo Salah thought Alexander Isak And Erling would score more than Chris Wood so far in the Prem.
But the team that finished fourth soil a year ago is still in hunting and if they beat Chelsea On the city on Sunday – and I expect that they will be – they can be Premier competition in Europe for the first time since the day of Cloughie.
And if Wood ends his season as he played the rest, centerbacks are for a rough old afternoon.
But I fear Fulhamand can’t see Newcastle or Aston Villa sliding.
The boys from Nuno Espirito Santo need at least one of them to fall short and open the door – but it would be remarkable to earn a euro place after last year.
And as a big fan of the old school roads, I am just so happy that Wood has had a bigger say than most.
False nines, floating dozens, sixes, eight, undersignment, low blocks. . . There are many people who in fact try to reinvent the game.
So I like to look at forest under Nuno, with a good Throwback center Vooruit.

They don’t have much possession, but nobody is better at playing their strengths by getting ahead quickly, two Wingers and crosses ping in a man in the middle.
The Chelsea defense will not be tried too often to handle someone like wood.
Many games play with one up and a lot of attackers spend half the time falling back it is like a free hit for center-backs.
I would like to see how they would go against boys like Mick Harford, John Fashanu And Alan Shearer And a fight against guys you would hit.
I don’t mean annoying things, but real challenges. I don’t see many modern defenders who would treat that and you only have to consider wood as proof.
Nuno has done fantastic work and I am happy that he was not going so well when he was in Tottenham.
But he has been reflected, has rebuilt his reputation on the back of great recruitment and good signing sessions, and I always say that that is the key for every manager.
Chelsea was not convinced at any stage this season and if I had to put my life on the outcome, it would be a forest gain.
But unfortunately for Nuno and his side, while three points would jump their opponents, I don’t think it will be enough.
To make the Champions League anyway.
If City would go to Fulham who needs a victory, it would have brought another pressure, but a point will be enough and I am sure they will get it.
St James’ Park Will fluctuate after a year that finally brought a trophy and I don’t see Newcastle against Everton.
And you certainly couldn’t intend Manchester United To beat Aston Villa, even at home, after that midweek shock against Spurs. If a competition has ever been summarized for a whole season, Hey?
So if I am right on all three, it will be the Europa League For Forest next time and the Champions League will just have to wait 12 months!
Spurding clubs on
It would not make the shortlist of a great final – to be honest it would have difficulty making a very long – but I was happy to see Tottenham wins the Europa League.
Not that I have something against Manchester United, it has only closed for a few months for football in the general and for three sets of long-suffering and loyal supporters.
It has been a difficult road for Newcastle, Crystal Palace And Spurs -fans, but finally they have a trophy to celebrate and it is a nice change from the same old names as winners.
In the final of Wednesday I was disappointed about Alejandro Garnachos moaning that he is not in the side from the start.
If you are on the ground like a Gaffer Ruben Amorim is – the last thing you need is one of your players who come out and have a doll.
Fair enough, Garnacho did well when he came up – but no more than that. Much better to keep your head down and continue with work.
Let’s face it, if he had done it as well as he should, he would not have been on the couch in the first place.
