Google Keep may soon introduce this long-awaited feature on Android

Google Keep may soon be getting a new setting that will allow users to resize the app window on their smartphone. The development comes just days after Google announced that it would be bringing new functionality to its note-taking app on Wear OS that includes resizable, pinnable tiles, a feature that rolled out as part of the latest Android Feature Drop. The window-resize functionality on Google Keep was reportedly discovered during an APK teardown of the Android app.

Google Keep gains support for resizable window size

An Android Authority reportin collaboration with tipster Assemble Debug, Google claims that it may soon give users the ability to resize Google Keep windows on Android. Currently, Google Keep windows can be maximized or resized to preset dimensions.

The ability to resize windows on demand was discovered by the publication as part of an APK teardown of the Google Keep app version 5.24.222.01.90, and was activated after “activating a flag”.

It would be accessible via a new sliding panel layout that can be used to resize windows without fixed proportions. However, not all smartphones could support the feature.

Devices with a pixel density higher than 600ppi may get support for resizable Google Keep windows, the report said. There is currently no word from the company on plans to roll out support for resizing Google Keep on Android.

Google Keep gets new tiles on Wear OS

Last week, Google announced that it was bringing Tiles to the Google Keep app on Wear OS. The feature was announced at its developer conference, Google I/O on May 14, but the rollout only began last week.

It now allows users to add multiple tiles, which are customizable. Google says they can also be pinned notes or to-do lists. To use it, Google says: “Just swipe through your tiles and find your pinned note (like a grocery list) to stay on top of things.”
