An Australian war hero has hit the 'Woke Agenda' of a public primary school because they can unsubscribe from an Anzac Day service.
Sherwood Ridge Public School in Kellyville, Northwest Sydney, asked parents last week to advise whether they did not want their children to attend a special memorial meeting and service at the school on 10 April.
The goal of the E -mail sent by director Jody Sullivan was to house a small number of Christian students at the school who do not commemorate 'war'.
It is, however, understood that the students will miss next week's meeting and instead participate in guided activities.
Veteran Michael von Berg Mc OAM said that the move was part of a trend of Australians who set off national significance on ideological grounds for days.
“Australia Day was the first – I said that Anzac Day will be the next and here we are,” he said Daily Mail Australia.
He called Sherwood's movement an “insult and disrespectful for all the great men and women we have lost in all wars.”
“It must be beyond a religion or any form of agenda,” said Mr Von Berg.

'The children did not come up with it and I don't think it is the parents – I suspect it is the teachers.
'You have just some people who hate our country for whatever reason and hate our flag. And that is very unhealthy for a country.
“It is the wake -up agendas that were not helped by the government, because we have not been hard enough or strict enough to get it.”
Mr Von Berg was a platoon commander in Vietnam who received a military cross in 1966 for his actions.
His quote states that he showed 'a complete neglect of his own safety to lead his troops in the successful driving of an enemy attack after they were ambushed in a ravine and saved their lives.
He pointed out that many religions, including Christianity, were represented in the Australian Defense and 'We had some beautiful Padres with us at the active service of all denominations'.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was a question on Wednesday whether schools should allow students to sit on the day.
“I support Anzac Day. It's that simple. I am on Anzac Day: I will be with the Australian War Memorial, that's the right place to be, “he said.

The controversy at Sherwood Ridge Public School comes a year after a group of teachers stated that they wanted to 'dismantle the Anzac Legacy'.
Pippa Tandy, a spokesperson for Victorian group teachers for Palestine, said in April 2024 that she wanted to change how the history of Australia is taught in schools because she is 'fed up with ideological work for weapons companies and the government'.
Anzac Day is a national day of memory of the first major military action of soldiers in Australia and New Zealand in the First World War.
More than 8,000 Australian soldiers died during the Gallipoli campaign launched on 25 April 1915. This year's commemorations mark the 110 -year anniversary.
