Liv Johnston, a toddler mom from the UK who recently revealed that she lets her two-year-old daughter stay up until 10pm to watch movies, shared her top tips for having the most fun and saving a lot of money when you next one going on a Harbor holiday.

Liv wrote on social media: “’I don’t understand why people like caravan holidays’, I always said before we went on our first caravan holiday.

“So if you’re heading to Haven anytime soon, here are some of my top tips for when you’re there.”

Liv explained that you first need to download the Haven app.

She advised: “Here you can book all your activities in advance, you get your own cute little countdown and realistically this is the place where you will find all the information for your holiday.”

Secondly, Liv stressed the importance of ‘taking advantage of the free activities’.

She added: “I spent quite a bit of money on activities last time and to be honest the cheaper activities or the free activities were probably our favourites.

“Some activities I recommend that are free or very cheap are sand art, golfing, or swimming.”

In addition, Liv explains that to save time and effort, you can have your groceries delivered directly to your caravan.

She continued: “This is something we learned after our first trip, and something we will use on our second trip, but that is how to arrange a supermarket delivery to your caravan.

Within the caravan park with a games hall, laser gaming, a swimming pool and even axe throwing

“Our plan was to fill the car up and take all the groceries with us, but that takes up too much space in the car, so it makes sense to just have it delivered to your caravan.”

Following up on this, this smart mom explained that visitors to Haven should also “take advantage of the surrounding areas.”

Tips for a stress-free holiday with children

PARENTS have learned three ways to make family vacations with kids a lot easier.

Three experts offer advice on what you can do to make your holiday as stress-free as possible.

Family vacations are always fun, but with kids of a certain age, it can be more challenging than it needs to be.

Thanks to Travel weeklyHere are three ways people with young toddlers can have the best vacation possible.

Clarisse Chapolard, who is responsible for overseeing and caring for Club Med customers, says booking flights outside peak hours ensures the plane and airport are quieter, making for a more comfortable experience.

“Staff are also generally more available to help,” she adds. “Flights can be the biggest headache with small children, so travel short distances if possible.”

Clarisse also advises making sure there are activities near your accommodation to keep toddlers occupied.

A child-friendly hotel can make a big difference to your family holiday, especially when parents want some time to themselves.

Chitra Stern, founder and CEO of Martinhal Resorts, said: “Properties should be child-friendly and safe, but also stylish and comfortable for parents.”

Finding a place with bed guards, stair gates, bathroom steps and furniture with rounded edges will help prevent unnecessary injuries or accidents.

Alan Cross, director of travel agent relations at Jet2holidays, advises parents to look at package holidays for peace of mind, convenience and security.

“Families with toddlers will appreciate special facilities such as kids’ clubs, children’s pools, crèches, playgrounds, cots and high chairs,” he said.

Package deals can also include free child seats, single parent deals and discount codes. These deals are suitable for families larger than the standard group of four.

Liv shared: “Although there is so much to do on site, there are also lots of things to do off site. This is definitely something we will be taking advantage of in September as we don’t have many activities booked yet.”

To ensure your trip is as enjoyable as possible, Liv advised, “And the final tip is: if you want to do activities, book them in advance.”

Five Ways to Keep Your Kids Cool in the Heat

IT can be hard – and expensive – to keep kids cool when it’s hot outside. But Fabulous Digital Senior Reporter and mother of two Sarah Bull shares five ways to help, and they won’t cost the earth.

Pull them off

It may sound simple, but undressing children at home can really help them regulate their temperature when it’s hot outside. Remember to apply sunscreen regularly, as their skin will be more exposed to the sun.

Cool the bedrooms before bedtime

When it’s hot outside, it can be hard for kids to fall asleep – especially if their bedroom feels like an oven. If you have a room that doesn’t get direct sunlight, keep the windows open to let in a breeze. It’s also a good idea to keep the curtains closed to prevent the room from heating up.

Wear a hat

Another simple technique, but one that really works. Make sure your kids wear a hat when they play outside. It protects their face and head from the sun and it also helps if you have a little one who struggles with bright sunlight. If your little one struggles to keep a hat on, try one with a strap that goes under their chin to help.

Avoid the car

The car can be one of the hottest places to be during a heat wave, and it often takes a long time to cool down. If you have the option, it’s better to stay home than to take the kids somewhere in a hot car.

Stay hydrated

This is always important, but even more so in a heatwave. Make sure you remind your children to drink regularly and keep them topped up with cold fluids when you can. Also use ice to make sure it is as cold as possible.

One person said: “Great tips!”

Another added: “I love a Haven holiday!”

A third noted: “[From] someone who lives and works on a holiday park… it is definitely worth getting Uber Eats from outside the park.

“We had Papa Johns with us and it was twice as expensive as the one down the road.”
