Mother mocks ex over his children’s names – only to be told her son’s are ‘so so so bad’
A mother was left speechless when people started criticizing the name she proudly gave her son.
She had bragged about her son’s name while simultaneously ridiculing the name her ex had chosen for his other two children.
The mother received criticism for the name she gave her son after she shared it on the Tragedeigh forum on Reddit.
BAD RATING
She said it’s only on a rare “occasion” that she has to correct people on the spelling of her son’s name.
While she admits it’s an unusual name, she says his name isn’t as strange as the nickname her ex gave his children.
“My son’s name is Krystopher,” she said in a now deleted post.
“I know I spelled it weird, that’s not the name I’m talking about.
“My ex went on to have two children with someone else and named them Tempest and Leviathan.”
DIFFICULT AUDIENCE
The post went viral and received over 1,000 positive votes, as well as numerous comments from people who gave their opinion on the name.
The mother didn’t expect to become the target of ridicule, as Redditors turned their attention to Krystopher instead of Tempest and Leviathan.
“Krystopher is so so so bad,” someone said.
“Intentionally misspelling a common name looks ignorant and is much crueler than giving your child a strange but correctly spelled noun,” another noted.
“Tempest and especially Leviathan are horrible, don’t get me wrong, but the call comes from within the house.”
A third commenter said that Leviathan can be shortened to “Levi,” while misspelling Christopher as Krystopher isn’t “funny, unique, or cute.”
Among the comments were Redditors who indicated that they liked the names Tempest and Leviathan.
Meanwhile, others told the mother that Krystopher would have trouble spelling his name for the rest of his life.
“If you apply by phone, who will have the most trouble?” someone said.
“Tempest, Leviathan, or Krystopher? People should know how to spell tempest and leviathan – and if they don’t, they can easily look it up.
“Krystopher, you have doomed your son to forever say the phrase “Krystopher spelled K… R… Y…. S….”.”
“And the number of times your son’s important information gets lost because someone files it under Christopher will be crippling.
“Like medical records. Job applications, tax returns, even IDs! You have disabled your son for life.”
What does Krystopher mean?
According to The pushKrystopher is a Greek name meaning ‘carrying Christ’.
Alternative spellings of the boy’s name are Kristopher and Christopher.
Krystopher has become increasingly popular in recent years.
The discussion comes after another mother posted a message on What to expect that she hates her daughter’s name.
She said she chose the name after disagreeing with her husband about a name.
She was furious that “nobody understands” when she calls her daughter “Ottilie” and that many people can’t spell it.
The mother decided to nickname her ‘Tilly’ after receiving this suggestion.
