I’m plus size and made my own cheap anti-chafing cream – it’s 3 ingredients
Thanks to one woman’s DIY recipe, there’s no reason to spend summer using chub rub anymore.
Of course, there are anti-chafing balms available, but her remedy for the heat is cheap.
A woman posted on Reddit, a forum dedicated to all things plus-size, helpfully explaining her recipe.
Purist said she has since switched to an anti-chafing product she purchased in Germany.
But before she discovered the ultimate overseas balm, she wanted to make her own.
One of the ingredients is to dry off excess moisture, a second to reduce friction and a third to reduce sweating.
She also provided detailed instructions on how to prepare the device for use on the go.
HOW TO MAKE ANTI-CHAFFER CREAM
All you need is starch, coconut oil and a piece of antiperspirant stick.
“With aluminum,” she said of the antiperspirant stick.[It] causes you to sweat less, which causes irritation.”
As a first step, she melts the coconut oil and antiperspirant in the microwave.

Then she mixes it with the starch until a creamy texture is created.
The Redditor waits for the mixture to harden before performing the final step.
“I put it in a little container so I can always carry it with me,” she said.
She also gave some advice for others who want to make their own anti-chafing cream.
“I recommend that you also bring some wet wipes for your hands,” she said.
The DIYer added that the mixture worked for two summers.
WHAT IS SANDING?
Chafing is an annoying condition where the skin rubs against each other.
Sweat can aggravate the pain associated with the problem and cause inflammation.
Mount Sinai has a few recommendations to avoid the unpleasant summer misery.
First, they recommend wearing clean clothes, preferably 100% cotton.
They also recommend wearing appropriate clothing for the activities, such as biker shorts for cycling.
Mount Sinai added that keeping the area clear of debris is essential to prevent complications such as further irritation.
If you are already suffering from the aftermath of abrasions, they recommend using Vaseline or baby oil until the area heals.
