A COSTCO customer was stunned to find a product that looked remarkably similar to Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum cream, but for a fraction of the price.

She ran home to compare the scent and texture of the nourishing skin care products.

SEEING DOUBLE SENTENCES

She went viral on the social media app when she posted about a budget-friendly beauty purchase.

She was walking through the shelves at Costco and came across the Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream.

“When I saw this at Costco, I had to run straight home to see if this really was a knockoff of Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum cream, which costs $63 damn dollars in Canada,” she said.

“The pack at Costco was two for $20, so only $10 each.”

Laura placed the Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream next to Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum cream to show that the packaging was virtually identical.

“SDJ is amazing – the smell!!! The formula!!! So hydrating and leaves your skin feeling so soft, not sticky at all – it just makes you feel like you’re [angel],” she said.

However, Costco’s cream cannot be considered an imitation unless it smells and feels the same as Sol De Janeiro’s.

After smelling each product, she gave her honest opinion and began applying it to her skin.

“The scent was pretty much the same overall, but the Bum Bum cream was a little sweeter,” she said.

Why Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream is a cult favorite among beauty lovers

“Then I had to try it on, so I put the Bum Bum and Costco side by side.

“Apart from the slight color difference, they felt exactly the same on my skin.

“Overall this is a 10/10 dupe.”

Laura was impressed with Costco’s affordable body cream and urged her followers in the caption of her video to try it for themselves.

“If you have personally fallen victim to Sol de Janeiro’s $63 dollar cream, RUN to Costco NOW,” she said.

FAST SHOPPERS

Nearly 214,000 viewers liked the video and many commenters were grateful for the suggestion.

“Damn dollars? [laughing] “I’m going tomorrow, thanks for the comparison,” someone said.

“I honestly like the Costco version [to be honest] “It absorbs so quickly,” another commented.

“I love this! I’ve bought it twice now and I always get so many compliments on it,” said a third.

“I personally love it and have purchased it several times now (Bum Bum is definitely sweeter),” said another.

“Nice to have this to split the cost between the real money purchases.”
