A murder investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in her south-east London flat.
Police were called to a flat on Argyll Road in Woolwich at around 5.25pm on Friday after concerns were raised about the welfare of the unnamed resident.
Police said officers gained access to the property and found the woman, 43, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy on Saturday found her cause of death was blunt force trauma and a head wound.
Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren, South Crime Specialist, said: “This is a very tragic incident and thoughts go out very much to the victim's family, who are being supported by specialist officers.
'The woman's next of kin have been informed of her death, but formal identification of the body has yet to take place.
