Everyone agrees that my sister chose the ‘ugliest name ever’ for her child
A fight broke out after two sisters argued over the manner in which one would announce the name of her future baby.
She just couldn’t let her sister carry out her plan, even when the rest of her family turned against her.
OH BABY
Reddit user Duck shoes told how the explosion occurred when she was blowing up balloons at her sister’s baby shower.
Everything was going well as she and her family helped prepare for the occasion, but things took a disturbing turn.
“Until I saw a big sign that said ‘Strummer Azrael Quinn,’” she said.
It took her a while to understand the nickname.
“I was confused and asked my sister and she told me it was the name she had chosen for her baby,” she said.
“Usually I don’t care what parents name their children, but we are not celebrities and as the child’s aunt I wanted to spare the child the embarrassment,” she continued.
BLAME GAME
Her sister didn’t seem to appreciate her opinion on the situation.
“I suggested that we maybe not put the sign up and then think about it as a family,” she said.
“She got mad and said it was a fine name and she wanted the sign put up,” she said.
It wasn’t long before other family members got involved as well.
“My mom came over to see what the problem was and after I explained the situation, she got mad at me for ‘creating problems’ and said it didn’t matter whether I liked the name or not,” she said.
“They told me to leave because I was ‘ruining her big day’ and I haven’t spoken to my sister since.
IN ACCORDANCE
However, many agreed that the name was a fateful one.
One Redditor made it clear what his position was on who was really at fault.
“Her for choosing possibly the ugliest name ever, and for throwing her own baby shower. You for saying anything other than ‘oh how unique,'” they said.
Others also weighed in on the baby name debacle.
“Oh my goodness. That’s an unfortunate combination,” said another user.
“I can almost guarantee that your nephew/niece will want to change her name at some point,” they added.
“This name is really not a good idea. Why on earth did she choose that?” asked one user.
“Other kids will be ruthless and bullying,” one Redditor wrote.
“This strange name will affect this child’s whole life,” said another.
“This will happen after 18 years of trauma, until they are old enough to file a name change petition with the court,” they added.
