“As you see here, I am a private person and I post about my work, not too much about life outside of work. I don’t need attention or validation or do I want.
“But the comments about my appearance and weight at the Spanish Grand Prix have been terrible. I have had to switch off comments about my social media. It is worth saying that they came from both women and men.
“If you don’t like how someone wears or looks on television, think about it freely, but why would you send it to them? Why would you contact someone to be deliberately rude?
“I am a journalist and I am good at work and I am furious that this influences me. But that does it and there will be people who will receive similar abuse that are not as strong as I do. Don’t do it.
“The good news is that a larger operation that I thought I would get not needed at the moment and that things could be treated with medication.
“Many people have this. It’s not about being unwell. It’s about the mean comments of women and men who comment on my appearance.
“My health has improved and I am back in the gym. For me. Not for someone else. Think before you write to someone.”
