A moving wake in memory of the killed teenager Pheobe Bishop has drawn a crowd of hundreds, with a speech from her charismatic sister who encourages that presence to dance.

The community held a candlelight vigil in Kolan Community Park on Sunday on Sunday from 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with around 500 mourners who wore bright colors and butterflies. A second candlelight wake is held in Buss Park in nearby Bundaberg on Monday from 5 pm.

Pheobe, 17, was missing nearby Queensland‘s Bundaberg Airport around 8.30 am on 15 May after booking a trip to WA. On Friday, officers discovered what was considered the remains of the teenager near Goodnight Scrub National Park.

The find was made in ‘ruthless’ site southwest of Bundaberg, with researchers who also wanted to reclaim the missing luggage of the teenager who was expected to end their efforts on Saturday evening.

The housemates of Pheobe, James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, Fronted Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday, three weeks to the day after she missed and disappeared. Prosecutors claim that the pair has moved more than once.

At the end of the Vigil of Sunday, Pheobe’s sister Kaylea, 18, dedicated a song of one republic to the teenager and said: “Please get up and dance, because you know this is what this B **** H (Pheobe) would do!”

The family broke immediately dancing and cheering at a time when those present described as incredibly moving.
