Zine enough
Zinedine Zidane rejected a blank check to join Manchester United as a manager, according to his old teammate.
Former Chelsea Center-back Marcel Desailly also revealed that Zidane is that NOT Driven by cash – something that the ex -Ballon d’Or winner proved this week.
Zidane has been approached by some of the largest clubs in the world since he did not leave in 2021 after winning a trophy.
The World Cup icon, 52, was heavily connected to a move to Man Utd before, during and after the roller coaster of Erik ten Hag for two years.
One of the reasons why the French tactic probably rejected Old Trafford Chiefs was because he did not feel confident to speak English.
A few years later, and for the next 32 team Club World Cup, Zizou was offered an eye-watery £ 84 million to work for a one-year contract with Saudi Pro League Runner-up al-Hilal.
And Desailly, who won the World Cup 1998 with Zidane, has explained how difficult it is for clubs to persuade him to participate and where he probably goes.
Desailly, 56, said: “Will Zinedine Zidane be seduced by Saudi Arabia?
“Well, he had an empty check on Chelsea’s table and an empty check from Manchester United and rejected them.
“He’s not in it for the money. I don’t see why money will change something, I know he will not change his lifestyle privately.”
