McDonald’s fans share trick to make their Toffee Sundaes using an Asda product
If you’re missing McDonald’s toffee sundaes, you might be able to satisfy your cravings with something from Asda.
Maccie fans claim that the supermarket’s caramel sauce tastes almost identical to the sauce used in the fast food chain’s popular dessert.
TikTok user @lifewithshan._ uploaded a video showing how she makes McDonald’s toffee sundaes with Asda sauce.
She wrote: “To all my British girls, boys, gays and those who miss the toffee sundae at McDonald’s… thank me later.”
The ice cream lover shows how she buys an ice cream from McDonald’s or a McFlurry and then adds the sauce: Caramel Drizzle from Nestlé.
The sauce is said to be perfect for “pancakes, desserts and berries.”
She wrote: “DIED and gone to ice heaven.”
You can currently buy the sauce for £2.50 from Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Hundreds of people liked her video and wanted to try the trick themselves.
The product description reads: “Delicious Carnation Caramel Sauce to drizzle over pancakes, desserts, berries or a delicious caramel sundae!
“Or why not use it to dip churros in, drizzle down the sides of a layer cake, or drizzle over the top of a cheesecake when serving?
“Carnation Dizzles are available in Caramel, Chocolate or Original Sweetened Condensed Milk flavors.”
In the old days, people would say that every dessert had caramel sauce added to it, which made it even more delicious.
“Delicious with a bowl of fruit and whipped cream, I ate it last night,” someone wrote.
“I love it on pancakes with banana and ice cream. Also a good Nice “Milkshake,” added another.
As a third wrote: “Put this over apple crumble and ice cream, mmm!”
“We’ve been using this on pancakes with strawberries, banana and whipped cream for years,” someone else added.
“It’s a delicious sauce with the perfect consistency.
“My wife also used it for caramel macchiatos. We’ve tried others, but this is the one we like best.”
Another said the sauce is perfect for a cup of coffee, writing: “My daughter uses this to make cold coffee at home.”
