I loved my baby name so much until my nephew was born and ruined it forever

Choosing a baby name is not easy.

It seems that no matter what nickname you choose, someone always has something to say about the nickname you choose.

And even if by some miracle you find a name that everyone is happy with, there is a risk that someone will steal the name for themselves.

This is exactly what happened to a Redditor who found out her sister “stole” her son’s name to use as her own.

The mother expressed her outrage over her sister’s name choice on a Reddit page that ridicules baby names.

In her post she wrote: “My sister named her baby the same as mine!

“I named my son Thomas Morgan, my grandmother’s last name, and she now calls her Morgan her middle name Thomas!”

She added that Morgan was the sisters’ maiden name and therefore had significance to both of them.

Other Redditors were quick to weigh in, though many were divided on the topic.

Someone wrote: “You are now morally obligated to call your child ‘fake Thomas Morgan’ for the rest of his life.”

Another joked in agreement: “Keep calling your child ‘Thomas Morgan, the first and the better’ whenever she’s around to assert your dominance.”

“I knew cousins with the same first and last name, same middle name. It was weird,” said another.

However, many admitted that they did not see the problem. For example, several cousins admitted that they had the same name.

One explained: “My niece and I share a name (my first, her second, she’s older than me), it’s our grandmother’s name. It’s literally never been an issue.”

A second agreed, adding: “My sister and I both have daughters named after our grandmothers. That’s not a problem.”

Another weighed in, saying, “My husband and his cousin are both named James. It’s never really been a problem. This is fine.”
