The legendary horse races coach Peter Easterby unfortunately died at the age of 95.
He won five champion obstacles and two Cheltenham Gold Cups during his shimmering career.
His son Tim confirmed the devastating news in a moving statement.
It said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of my father Peter Easterby.
“He died peacefully in his own house with his family by his side.
“A real gentleman, legendary racing horse trainer, passionate farmer, lover of country sports and an incredibly proud father and grandfather.”
The tribute has been stabbed, racing expert Jim McGrath wrote: “A one -off, brilliant trainer, great company, sober, yet fun and clear to deal with.
“Loved life and people. Condolans to the whole family and his many friends. Rip.”
Fans added: “Sincere condolences to you and your family Tim. One of the biggest racing horse trainers in history. An inheritance that will never be forgotten.”
Another said: “What a man and what a dynasty he has founded. I am sorry about the death of Peter Easterby – indeed a very nice Yorkshireman.”
