Six people are feared after a small plane with seven seats in the Pacific Ocean was crashing.
The Cessna 414 of 1970 was reportedly about three miles west of Point Point Loma in San Diego crashed around 12.45 pm on Sunday.
The plane was on its way to Phoenix and crashed shortly after taking off San Diego Airport.
Coast Guard Recovery Crews found a rubble field and oil spot and are looking for the area in a Jayhawk helicopter, plane, cutter and two small boats.
San Diego -Badmeesters and Border Patrol assisted on Sunday evening.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
