Chloe Covell has failed to get her name into the record books in her quest to become Australia’s youngest ever Olympic gold medallist.

The 14-year-old Gold Coast resident was unable to perform her classic skateboarding tricks on a frustrating afternoon beneath the Eiffel Tower.

She hoped to break the 68-year-old record of Australian legend Sandra Morgan, who competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

She is considered one of the best in a talented field of participants. The event was so big that it embarrassed the 14-year-old. She fell during her two runs and failed to show her best tricks in her first three attempts.

After surrendering her third stroke, the Australian ran to her father and burst into tears as her campaign fell apart.

Her last two attempts had to fail to stay in the race, but she again landed on the concrete before being embraced by her competitors, realizing that her Olympic dream was over.
