A woman shared her terrifying experience on an eight-hour Qantas flight where her family fell ill after discovering a previous passenger had left vomit on their seats.

Keira Keegan boarded a plane with her family on Saturday evening en route to Singapore from Sydney, only to be shocked by the state of their seats, which were covered in illness from a previous passenger.

“Our seats were wet and splashed with vomit from a passenger who was ill on a previous flight,” Ms Keegan said.

'The carpet was soaked with an overwhelming odor of vomit.

Despite the disgusting state of their seats, the family were told by the Qantas crew that there was little they could do to help.

“The crew were unable to clean up the vomit due to the risk of biohazards,” Ms Keegan said.

“The crew members' jump seat was also wet and covered in vomit.”

Despite the 'biological risk', the plane was cleared for the flight and the family had to sit in the filthy seat for eight hours or wait for a new flight.

“The aircraft was completely unfit for use, the cabin manager reported this situation,” Ms Keegan said.

“The condition of the cabin compromised the safety of your passengers and crew.

“This plane should not have been cleared to fly.”

Ms Keegan claimed Qantas was slow to respond to her complaints.

“We have not been contacted,” she said Monday.

'My family is now suffering from gastro symptoms. Sitting on seats for eight hours, wet and splattered with another passenger's vomit, is unsanitary and unacceptable.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Qantas for comment.
