A British therapist broke the world record for most backflips in 30 seconds – while he is set on fire.

Ryan Luney, 29, completed the trick seven times in a row to win his seventh world record, while his father Alan exploited the Stopwatch.

De Brit wrote history in a rented warehouse in April, which aimed at Burnt Tracksuit Bottoms and Smoky Air.

He described the performance, he said Time: “I had to walk constantly, so I wouldn’t suffocate, and the fire wouldn’t overwhelm me.”

Fortunately, he had his stunt coordinator John Mulvey armed with an extinguisher armed and ready to throw in a towel in case it went wrong.

At the end, the Daredevil was able to breathe a sigh of relief, largely escaping, albeit with a ‘slightly burned throat’.

He also suffered a heat on his back after the stunt.

Mr Luney, from Carrickfergus, nearby BelfastHad the record in 2017 for the longest reverse safe in a bag.

He then started learning to learn to spit in the air and had reached the most fire -splashing backflips within a few months, and broke again two years later in 2019 with an incredible 19 19 count.

He revealed that he was inspired by the popular American Daredevil show Jackass, despite warnings in the series not to copy the highlighted stunts.

But soon he hit a brick wall.

“I thought, where to go from here?” he said. ‘I was considering eating a fire, but it is actually quite difficult to see where you brought [the flame] In the air. ‘

With apparently no limits to conquer and with a gloomy end, he suddenly had a brain wave: to do like backflips in 30 seconds if he could be set completely on fire.

Video of the Trailing performance shows that Mr Luney is set on fire by his coordinator before performing a series of perfect flips.

He later described the unlikely cold feeling that flushed over him when he completed the stunt, because he was wearing two tops that was in protective gel who was left in the fridge for a day.

His fiancé Zoe Woods was there to encourage him, but his mother Catherine just couldn’t bear to look.

Afterwards he said: ‘Her reaction was one of relief that I was safe and alive. She was very proud of me, but glad it was over. ‘

Luney now has the ‘bug’ to break even more records, but admits that he is getting too old for Parkour, a hobby to which he became addicted during his teenage years.

He remembered how he pretended to be doing his homework, but instead did backflips and free running.

The need to take all this to unparalleled levels was fueled by his psychology teacher, who was convinced that he had to specialize in something that could divorce him from everyone else.

He will soon focus his attention on completing his doctorate and continuing his work as a therapist, although he admits that many suggest that he is the one who needs help.
