Sun seekers, prepare to bubble over with excitement.
A resort in the Maldives is offering holidaymakers looking for a stay with a difference the opportunity to spend a night in a transparent ‘beach tent’.
The striking accommodation can be found at Coast Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives And consists of a cluster of spheres, two of which are transparent.
The bubble tent is ‘dramatically located in a secluded spot along [a] beautiful sandbar,” the resort says, offering guests “an incredibly romantic experience under the stars” without the irritation of mosquito bites.
According to the resort, it’s a “unique” beachfront glamping experience like no other.

The rest of the Finolhu resort also has a lot to offer.
Holidaymakers must have a confirmed minimum stay of at least three nights at Seaside Finolhu (above) to book the beach bubble experience
The location, Baa Atoll, is one of 26 natural atolls in the Indian Ocean. Finolhu says: ‘It has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and its climate guarantees an average air temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and water temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius.’
The atoll features reefs, submerged cliffs and ‘thilas’ or underwater hills. This means that marine life has flourished, with around 1,200 reef species making their home on Baa – and snorkelling and diving on offer to holidaymakers.
The surrounding waters are home to turtles, dolphins, manta rays and whale sharks.
The resort offers several dining options – from a beachside breakfast spot to a sushi bar, and from an Arabic grill to a crab shack, beach club and ‘Milk Lab’, which serves protein shakes and juices. Guests can also order the Instagram-famous floating breakfast.
The atoll’s spa allows guests to relax with massages, hydrotherapy and beauty treatments. A gym, tennis court and golf studio allow holidaymakers to work up a sweat, while a kids’ club allows parents to take some time out for themselves.
Excursions include fishing trips, an educational adventure with the on-site marine biologist and visits to a local village.
Guests can book beachfront villas, some with private pools, overwater villas and even a ‘rockstar villa’ with a living room, terrace, large pool, steps to the ocean and a personal host/hostess.
Holidaymakers must have a confirmed minimum stay of three nights at Seaside Finolhu to book the beach bubble experience – with stays starting from £572.45 per night for a lagoon villa.
