A Qantas flight to Brisbane had to return to New Zealand due to a technical problem.
Qantas flight QF120 departed Auckland International Airport at 6.18am on Monday and returned more than three hours later at 9.30am.
An airline spokesman said the decision was made due to technical issues during the flight.
The plane had been flying for an hour when it started to turn back.
The plane had to make large circles in the sky before it was allowed to land at the airport two hours later.
A flight path was shared online, raising concerns among social media users.
“Are these guys okay?” someone asked on Reddit.
A replacement flight departed from the airport at 10:30 am.

The flight will arrive just before midday AEST.
No further disruptions to the timetable are expected. The next flight departs Auckland International Airport tomorrow at 6.25am.
The latest problem arose after a Qantas plane from Canberra to Brisbane had to make an emergency landing on Friday after its brakes failed.
Flight QF1908 from Canberra to Brisbane was scheduled to depart at 5.25pm but was delayed.
Shortly after takeoff, a warning light indicated that there was a brake problem with the plane.
The plane landed without incident on Brisbane Airport’s longest runway at 8.02pm.
In June, a Qantas flight from Sydney to Auckland was diverted back to Sydney after striking a bird over the Tasman Sea.
Flight QF141 was half an hour into its journey when it returned to Australia.
The plane circled over the NSW Central Coast for 40 minutes before landing safely at Sydney Airport.
