I’m being criticized for covering my 1-year-old in ‘tattoos’
A mother has been criticised for ‘tattooing’ her one-year-old son.
Fashion designer Shamekia said Internet trolls tell her she is raising a “gangster” or a “thug” because “they are not used to seeing a baby with tattoos.”
When she was eight months pregnant, the mother of one had a maternity shoot at a tattoo parlor.
“I was bullied on social media for it,” she said Really.
“People said he would be born with a lot of tattoos, or that he would get skin poisoning.”
She continued: “It was crazy, I laughed, but I decided to get them back.”

Shamekia decided to give her son Treylin his first temporary tattoo when he was six months old.
She said that when she first got tattoos on her son, her family was against it and didn’t even like the fact that she had tattoos herself.
But they’ve since changed their minds, as other kids love seeing Treylin’s tattoos when they’re out and about.
She added that she thinks Treyin loves dressing up with fake tattoos, like when he sees himself in the mirror he starts dancing.
Shamekia describes her son as a “celebrity,” as evidenced by the TikTok account she uses to show off his temporary tattoos @iamnuggetworld561 has 1.5 million followers.
However, she has received a lot of criticism online, with people saying social services should get involved or he should be ‘put in jail’.
Shamekia said: “The negative reactions were horrible. It hurt me because I know I’m not a bad mother.”
Despite the comments, Shamekia said she doesn’t regret covering her son in temporary tattoos.
She said the temporary tattoos pose no safety risks and criticized those who judge her parenting based on videos on social media.
