Horrifying footage shows a mouse running through a 'disgusting' hospital ward after patients complained the building was infested with rodents.
Daniel Hendron, 32, filmed a large adult mouse scurrying around under his bed at Walsall Manor Hospital in the early hours of Monday.
The father-of-three says patients are kept awake by mice 'screeching' at each other at night, while some nurses are too scared to set foot in the ward.
When the builder complained to hospital staff, he claimed nurses told him they had reported a mouse infestation as far back as November last year.
Mr Hendron, who has been in hospital since January 13 with a leg infection, said: 'The mice are everywhere. I have an open wound. How can this be a safe or sanitary place for me?
'There are at least five to six mice at a time. They come through the radiators and through holes in the walls. It's hell.
'Normally this is from 10 p.m. I can't even walk to the toilet, I have to pee in a pot because I don't want a mouse running down my leg.

Mr Hendron added that there have been reports of mice in at least one other department, with staff telling him they have been complaining about the problem since November.
'I have asked the staff to spray and mop the floor but it has made no difference. The mice keep coming back.'

He reported that the mice often ran under his bed and continued, “I am exhausted because it is impossible to sleep. I'm afraid I'll wake up and find a mouse chewing on my leg.
'I can't believe that a British hospital in the 21st century is infested with mice and that patients have to live with that.
'I don't sleep next to mice and if I have a paw, I expect a clean ward.'
Mr Hendron said he has repeatedly told staff about the mice and regularly posted videos on Facebook showing them running around patient beds and under medical equipment.
At night the mice come out to play. We're not talking about one, two or three mice, they're running around everywhere,” he said.
Mr Hendron added: 'The staff are so scared that they don't come to you to bring you medicine.

'Some nurses stand in the foyer of the ward and we have to move to them to get the medicine ourselves.
'The nurses are so afraid of staying in the ward for too long that they don't close the curtains around your ward when you want to go to the toilet.
“Instead, they grab people's crutches or walkers and try to pull the curtain closed because they're too scared to be in there.”
Daniel said he begged the nurses to move him to another unit, but they “say there's nothing they can do.”

A spokesperson said: 'Pest control measures have been put in place, in addition to strict infection prevention and control processes.
“Our teams have been addressing this issue and we have also increased cleaning in the affected areas and monitored for potential entry holes.”
