Must go to Aldi

Social media users were impressed with the lower purchase price, with many sharing their thoughts in the comments.

Someone said, “I need them all.”

What is the best time to shop at Aldi?

IF you’re going to shop at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For discounted items – when stores are open

Products with the red sticker are rare in Aldi’s 830 stores in the UK, but the supermarket says it doesn’t waste food, so there are a few out there if you’re quick.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: “All items are discounted to 50 per cent of the recommended retail price before opening time and on the best-before date.”

This means that you have the best chance of finding discounted groceries if you visit the store as soon as it opens.

Opening hours vary by store, but most are open from 7am or 8am. You can find the opening hours of your nearest store by visiting the online store locator.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that the company doesn’t normally sell. These items can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock arrives in stores every Thursday and Sunday, so these are of course the best days to come for the best, unique offers.

For an even greater chance of scoring the best items, visit your local store during opening hours.

But you don’t have to go to the store to get a Specialbuy.

They are also sold online, usually at midnight on Thursdays and Sundays, and you can order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend a minimum of £25, items will be shipped for free.

Remember, once they’re gone, they’re gone. So if there’s something you really want, go see it as early as possible.

Another added: “I love this.”

A third commented: “I like them, I have to go to Aldi.”

While one garden enthusiast claimed: “Mine cost £19 last week.”

More Aldi aisle purchases

IF you’re looking for bargains in the aisle here, you won’t want to miss some of the new items.

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “They’re £15 in our Aldi. Hubby’s there now so hoping they go through the scan for £5.”

At the same time, many bargain hunters tagged their friends and loved ones to alert them to the Specialbuy.

A customer tagged her partner and wrote, “I want two for outside.”

Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts?

IF you have ever shopped at Aldi or Lidl, you have probably experienced the super-fast checkout staff.

Aldi’s reputation as a fast supermarket is not without reason. The supermarket chain even claims that its checkouts are 40 percent faster than those of competitors.

It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible, which, the budget retailer claims, helps keep costs down for customers.

Efficient barcodes on packaging allow employees to scan items as quickly as possible. Most products have multiple barcodes to speed up the process.

Shelf-ready packaging is also used, keeping replenishment costs low.

A second asked an Aldi customer: “If you happen to be there and they have these, could you please pick up two for me?”

And that’s not all, someone else advised a Facebook user: “Keep your eyes open and grab lots of it.”

If you want to get your hands on this bargain hunter, you’ll have to be quick.

The planter is currently not available online, but is sold in the middle aisles of Aldi stores while stocks last.
