Rugby League reporter Paul Kent has issued a bomb -opening why Footy coach Ivan Cleary decided to return to Penrith.

The four-time Premiership-Winning Coach has previously opened itself from the events that led him to leave the Panthers in 2015 after he had been fired by NRL Legend Phil ‘Gus’ Gould.

He and Gould have since maintained a tense relationship, in which the then manager of the then Panthers chooses to handle the ax against the Premiership-winning coach because Cleary looked tired ‘and needed a break.

But in a shocking revelation, Cleary claimed that Cleary returned to Penrith because he had ‘unfinished things’ before he explained that he went on to ‘Nek’ Gould.

During a Q&A session on Fanatics TVKent was asked: “Can you tell us about the time that Gus Ivan and his return played?”

“I tell you what,” said Kent, initially appeared to carefully choose his words.

‘Gus is rid of him [because] He said he was tired. Now it was my understanding that Ivan had found out that he probably didn’t need a gus anymore.

“Gus recognized that. Gus continued him. That is under discussion, you can look at that as you want.

“Ivan went back and surprised many people. I know he had a conversation with someone.

“They said,” Size, why would you go back there after everything that had happened before? “

“And he said:” Because I still have unfinished things there. ‘

“On the way it is gone and Nekgus … so there is your microphone drop.”

In his book, not everything counts but everything that matters that was released last year, Cleary Hulde brought to Gould for his work at Penrith, but claimed that their relationship had soured so much that it had ultimately culminated in his looting in 2015.

“He did so much good for me, but he hurt me too,” wrote the 54-year-old, to think about his first enchantment in the club.

That insulting relationship has led to Cleary not talking to Gus since he confronted Gould with his looting when he joined the club in 2019.

The 54-year-old ended his first enchantment at the Panthers with the club that Rock was under the NRL.

But after a two -year interruption at the West Tigers, his return to the Panthers surprised after the stinging of Anthony Griffin surprised many, after his bitter exit.

On his own motivations to add Penrith, Cleary said he gave the club an ultimatum that he would not take the reign again unless Gould Nul did not have an authority about him.

“I still feel so grateful that (former chairman of the Penrith) Dave O’Neill asked me that day for coffee and really put his own reputation at stake because it was controversial,” he wrote.

“When I initially came back, it didn’t work.

‘Nathan did not play well, I felt guilty about that.

“There was so much control and it was certainly not positive.”
