How did each team qualify for the World Cup of the club?

The Club World Cup will return in the summer, with a brand new format for the 32 qualifications.

The new look tournament will take place in the US between 14 June and 13 July.

Clubs from all over the world will compete, with 12 from UEFA, six from Conmebol, four of Concacaf, CAF and AFC respectively, and one from the US and one from OFC.

Some big names will miss the tournament, with Liverpool And Barcelona Under some of the names that view it from home.

UEFA qualifications

UEFA received 12 slots for the club World Cup, with four went to the Champions League winners and another eight to the highest ranked UEFA parties.

Champions League winning qualifications:

  • Chelsea (England) – 2020/21
  • Real Madrid (Spain) – 2021/22, 2023/24
  • Man (England) – 2022/23

The rules dictate that only two clubs from one country can be eligible by arranging, but with two English parties that are already in the competition, Liverpool miss.

Barcelona also misses, because only one Spanish side was eligible for qualification.

Host qualifications

As is the case with an international tournament, the host country automatically qualified for the event.

However, the recording of Inter Miami has come with controversy.

La Galaxy won the MLS play-offs and the MLS Cup, but did not get the place.

Instead, the FIFA decided that the winners of the Supporters -Schild of the MLS, Inter Miami, would be eligible.

The supporters’ Shield of the MLS is awarded to the team with the best record after 34 games in a regular MLS season – Inter Miami was the best, with 74 points.

Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) qualifying competition

OFC was only given one place, determined by the OFC Champions League, which Auckland City FC has won 11 times in 14 years.

Conmebol -qualifications

Conmebol had six slots, with the winners of the qualification of Copa Libertadores and two others through selection.

Copa Libertadores:

  • Palmeiras (Brazil) – 2021
  • Flamengo (Brazil) – 2022
  • Fluminense (Brazil) – 2023
  • Botafogo (Brazil) – 2024

Concacaf qualifications

Four teams from Concacaf qualified by winning the Concacaf Champions League, or by winning a play in*.

Concacaf Champions League:

  • Monterrey (Mexico) – 2021
  • Seattle Sounders (US) – 2022
  • Pachuca (Mexico) – 2024

Play-in winners:

*Leon van Liga MX won the Concacaf Champions League 2023, but was disqualified by FIFA for violating the rules of the club ownership structure.

African football Confederation (CAF) qualifications

There were two ways in which teams from CAF qualified, either by winning the CAF Champions League, or via the CAF ranking.

Caf Champions League:

  • Al Ahly (Egypt) – 2021, 2023, 2024
  • Wydad AC (Morocco) – 2022

CAF -Rangers:

  • Es Tunis (Tunisia)
  • Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

Asian Football Federation (AFC) qualifications

Four Asian parties qualified by winning the AFC Champions League, or by the AFC ranking.

AFC Champions League:

  • Al -Hilal (Saudi -Arabia) -2021
  • Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) – 2022
  • Al Ain (VAE) – 2023

Because the competition was offered again, there were only three winners during the qualifying period.

As a result, fourth place went to the highest ranked side:

When does the club World Cup 2025 start and how can I view it?

  • The club’s world cup starts on June 15 with last place on July 13.
  • All promotion is available on Dazn.
  • 23 games are also shown on free-to-air Channel 5 about the tournament.
  • Sunsport Live Blogs -Selectic competitions in the competition, including all Chelsea and Man City competitions, as well as the last phases.
