I transformed my ‘ugly’ toilet into a ‘girlie doll’ thanks to Shein & TK Maxx bargains
Most new-build homes lack character, but one clever woman has turned her home upside down with the help of bargains from Shein and TK Maxx.
Proud homeowner Poppy took to TikTok to show that you don’t have to spend a fortune to do up a home. The secret to a beautiful and funky home can be found on the high street and online.
Before the budget-friendly but epic makeover, the woman described her drab bathroom as “ugly” and said the overall white aesthetic “added nothing.”
Poppy was so fed up with the dull atmosphere that she said she felt “really sick,” especially about the square toilet and “the paint splatters on the floor.”
Determined to breathe new life into the dull neighborhood, the young DIYer decided to check out the website Shein, where she spotted the popular adhesive tiles in a gorgeous shade of pink.
According to Poppy, who ordered three packs of ten, they were sold for an affordable £18 each, with customers also benefiting from free delivery.
Ultimately, the “money-saving queen” only used two of the three packs and returned the rest for a refund.
Meanwhile, for decorations, Poppy headed to discounter TK Maxx, where she picked up a fake plant in a cute baby pink pot for just £2.99 and a striped towel for £5.99.
Another addition that made a big difference to the restroom was a dusty pink cactus decoration that fit the theme perfectly, alongside a pink scented stick.
Armed with all the supplies, Poppy attached the trendy tiles above the small sink and behind the toilet, but admitted that the full makeover is not yet complete.
“I need to buy a few more pieces and get rid of this horrible floor. I also need a funky mirror,” the homeowner said in the video.
”I want to paint the top of the back wall pink and maybe the storage space under the sink as well.”
The simple yet stunning makeover – which gives a real ‘girlie pop’ vibe – has been well received Poppy’s page where it has been viewed almost 100,000 times.
Amazed by the before and after photos, dozens of people responded to the comments to share their thoughts and compliment the budget-friendly interiors enthusiast.
“That’s so pretty,” was the new look you couldn’t appreciate.
Someone else was inspired by the results and wrote: ”I want a bathroom with pink tiles, that’s my wish when I move 💗💗.”
