The world’s most famous jockey – who now drives full time in the United States – will be on the Berkshire track this week, but will not compete.

Dettori, forever famous for the beautiful seven at Ascot, said he turned the chance to race at the largest festival of the flat.

And although there is a part of him that ‘maybe’, it admits that this quickly disappears after a few glasses of bubbles.

If someone deserves to drop his hair on Ascot, it’s Frankie.

But gamblers want him to be sober to deliver his top tips – and he has an appropriate banker in that respect.

Dettori, that submitted for bankruptcy In March, a Mullins-Hardoper chose in the very last race of the meeting as his banker in the non-group races.

He thinks that sober can do the job for the biggest trainer of Jump Racing in the Queen Alexandra Stakes about 2m5F.

Although jumping did not really look like his game – he won £ 275,000 racing on the flat in France – sober, who called gamblers a ‘exciting’ prospect, finally nicely heated on his task.

He initially received a Gold Cup submission, but is stored for the handicap.

The former Godolphin Jockey said about their runner for trainer Charlie Appleby: “This is my nap in the group 1 of the week – Shadow of Light.

“He showed great speed in the Guineas and with the most good horses that went to St James’s Palace, I think this leaves the door open for him to show his things.

“He is my banker of the week in group 1’s – Goudveld would have been a bit obvious!”
