This is why you should be enthusiastic about audio overviews that come to Google Search

  • Google tests the Notebooklm function audio overviews during the search
  • The feature offers short, AI-generated audio compings for certain questions.
  • The function uses Gemini models to deliver an explanation style in a podcast style with clickable links.

I have been a fan of the Audio overview position in Google’s notebooklm Because I experimented with it for the first time last year. Now it comes to Google Search, currently only as a test in the laboratories, but it brings a more bite-sized version of the AI-generated “podcasts” that I like in Notebooklm.

Once you have chosen through laboratories, start seeing a small prompt on some pages with search results with the text: “Generate audio overview.” Tap there, wait about 30 to 40 seconds and comes from a compact audio clip of about five minutes, sometimes less, who explains what you have looked up in the form of two voices generated by AI that have a discussion. Not too deep, but not one sentence shallow. Think of a middle ground between “Wikipedia rabbit hole” and “I only read the head.”
