The childhood sweethearts are currently the proud parents of Venezuela (13), Prince John James (11), Prince Tyson II (7), Valencia Amber (5), Prince Adonis Amaziah (4), Athena (2) and Rico (11 months).
Their unique nicknames have undoubtedly attracted a lot of attention, with many wondering how they got them.
What are the hidden meanings behind Paris and Tyson’s children’s names? And which names did they discard when making their decisions?
To start with the obvious, heavyweight boxing champion Tyson has previously opened up about why he and Paris chose to give all three of their sons Prince as their first names.
Tyson, better known as The Gypsy King, candidly discussed his thought process in a clip from his 2020 documentary.
He explained to the cameras: “I am a king and they are princes until they get their rightful name.”
But it wasn’t that easy, because Tyson had previously revealed that he wanted to give his firstborn son a very typical name – but that was rejected by Paris.
He confessed: “I wanted to call the boy Patrick, but his wife wouldn’t let me.”
They both liked the idea of the Prince tradition and chose it as the primary nickname for the boys, before giving them their own unique middle names.
The eldest of the three – Prince John James – also had another hidden meaning.
According to Babynames, John is of Hebrew origin and means “God is gracious”.
While Prince Tyson II, who was clearly named after his famous father, inherited the meaning of his name – “ember” or “firebrand.”
Their third son, Prince Adonis Amaziah, has ties to both Greek mythology and Biblical history.
Adonis is thought to mean ‘Lord’, while Amaziah represents strong or powerful.
The girls have names just as unusual as their brothers.
Tyson chose Venezuela, inspired by the country in northern South America, and said it was a eureka moment as he lay in bed one night.
In an interview with The Guardian, Tyson explained: “One night, while I was sleeping, I thought about Venezuela. My wife’s name is Paris. I’m Tyson.
“If the girl had a normal name, it wouldn’t fit, right?”
When Tyson and Paris had their next daughter, they decided to continue with the world locations theme.
They named their second daughter Valencia Amber, probably inspired by the Mediterranean city.
According to the baby name experts at Nameberry, Valencia means “brave and strong,” while it can also mean “fierce.”
Two years ago, their current youngest came onto the market: Athena, which has ties to the Greek city of Athens.
Naming experts have reported the following: “The name Athena is primarily a girl’s name of Greek origin and means Goddess of Wisdom and War.
“The city of Athens in Greece is named after the goddess Athena.”
As for their seventh child, Prince Rico Paris Fury — the toddler’s middle name is a tribute to heavyweight boxer Tyson’s cousin, Rico Burton, who was murdered in 2022.
Paris said: “All my children have unusual names and it’s obviously very personal for Tyson as well.
“We also added my name to it, because I have seven kids and none of them are named after me. So Tyson thought, ‘Come on, it’s about time!'”
The family tradition of giving their sons Prince as their first name was Tyson’s idea.
