I cannot (and not) stop streaming this family -sitcom on Disney+, even though the TV program ends a while ago

Some shows appear and disappear almost at night; Others become institutions. Modern family is in the last category: More than five years after the end, it is still one of the most viewed shows on Disney+ worldwide.
Modern family Run from 2009 to the beginning of 2020, and like every show with so many seasons, it is fair to say that over time it lost part of its freshness: where season 1 has a great 100% rating of the critics on rotten tomatoes, the last season 11 – only reached 80%. But that is still a much higher assessment than many rival sitcoms, and there are still a lot to praise.
This is why Modern family is a modern classic and one of the Best Disney+ Shows – or Best Hulu shows If you are in the US – all time.
Why this family is worth getting to know

The first season set up the starting point for the show. A non-geidified (for us) film team follows the Dunphys to make a fly-on-wall documentary about the extensive family: Mama and Papa Claire and Phil and their three children; Claire’s father Jay and his much younger woman Gloria; Jay’s son Mitchell, his partner Cameron and their adopted daughter.
As you can see, the set-up justifies the title: This is a thorough modern family, multi-generational, multi-racial and including all. And if that is all the show about it, it would probably have been a disaster, preaching and worthy instead of spicy and hilarious. But the writing team is incredibly sharp, the dialog box and set pieces are often hilarious funny and the cast is spectacular. And I think the warmth and the big heart really resonate with people whose screens seem to be increasingly shooting with bad news.
The core cast is brilliant, and although part of the characterization comes close to stereotypes – the Camp Cameron, the grumpy Jay, the fiery Gloria – I don’t think it has ever been transferred from affectionate to problematically.
You get the real feeling that the writers care about and love the entire cast – and what a cast it is. Ed O’Neill as Jay, Sofia Vergara as Gloria, Ty Burrell like Phil, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell, Julie Bowen as Claire and Eric Stonestreet as Cameron are all delicious. And with the show so long – almost a life for the youngest stars, most of whom were grown by the last seasons – everyone had a lot of time to grow.
The characters are all favorites for me, but I think the show was usually stolen by Rico Rodriguez like Manny, the oldest young man ever to exist (and someone I can’t divorce What we do in the shade ‘ Similar Guillermo, played by Harvey Guillén).
NPR Say it very well and describes season 1: “Good acting. Great writing. Human characters played by great actors. That is perhaps the only Twist Network TV that has not tried often enough.”
Writing in Salon, Heather Havrilesky With us, we did not touch that remote control. “Between the spicy writing, great comic direction and remarkable timing of all the actors involved,” Modern Family “is one of those rare comedies that never feel uncomfortable or old -fashioned, because it is a clou … laughter and families? The two did not come on TV for long, long, but if they do that? And Ken Tucker of? Entertainment weekly I thought it was great too. “Modern Family is unique in the way it juggles so many players so agile and makes every member of the cast a lively, complex character,” he wrote. “Oh, and it’s really funny.”
All 250 episodes of Modern family are available for streaming at Hulu and Peacock in the US and Disney+ in the UK and Australia.
