THQ Nordic Unveils Wreckfest 2 With Detailed Vehicle Customization as Key Feature
Publisher THQ Nordic has announced Wreck party 2 as part of this year’s THQ Nordic Showcase. The upcoming racing game, which is a sequel to the 2014 game Wreck partyintroduces a range of new features, including detailed vehicle personalization and numerous technical improvements.
The news comes via a short reveal trailer, which shows live-action shots of a character in a dimly lit garage, interspersed with gameplay footage. The video also gave us our first glimpse at the sort of customization options that will be available to the player, including the ability to create your own vehicle livery, with a variety of unique vehicle designs on display.
Like other racing games, you can use your own liveries in multiplayer races or share them with friends. Wreck party 2 introduces a new version of the game’s ROMU engine, which the developer claims will provide the “highest possible fidelity and maximum accuracy” when it comes to demolition physics and vehicle simulation.
The game will also feature a range of racing modes, a career mode, multiplayer content, modding support on PC and console, as well as regular post-launch updates. There is no information yet on a potential release window or confirmation of the exact platforms that will be Wreck party 2 comes on top of the PC.
Judging from the impressive footage we’ve seen so far, it seems safe to assume that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are unlikely to make an appearance, with current-gen systems like the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 being opted for instead.
