Now the dust has arranged on Royal Ascot that we can focus our attention on a whole lot of large races that are coming up this summer.

With the Newmarket festival in July, Glorious Goodwood and the York Ebor are approaching quickly, now it’s time to find the Ante-Post markets.

Two Jockeys race horses.

Here I focus on three of the larger competitions and I reveal my thinking behind the selections.

Coral-Eclipse (July 5)

The Coral-Ellipse is bubbling like a cracker with Ombudsman who takes himself firmly in the photo by winning the dedication of the Prince of Wales during the Royal Meeting.

He showed a sharp bend of foot after he got a clear run and he won without too much trouble.

The bookmakers may have responded a bit exaggerated by making him 7-4 favorite for the Eclipse.

After all, second house Anmathat does not seem the best in a fight.

At current prices, Almaqam Looks a better gamble.

He had no problems dealing with Ombudsman when they met at the end of May in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes in Sandown.

The latter clearly improved for that run, but the Colt of Ed Walker seemed to have a lot in the tank.

His taste for a little cut in the ground is a slight worries, but his preference for the track is a plus and the British summer can easily deliver a flood or two that would indeed make the current 10-1 very tempting.

Of course, when the gold field pops up, they probably all play for a place.

July Cup (July 12)

I hope that connections from More thunder Put their neck out and supplement their Speedster for the July cup, because he would have a huge chance.

He is not in the bet at the moment, but his performance in missing the Wokingham in Royal Ascot was blistering last week.

He clocked one of the largest speed figures I have ever seen for the last half of the race after he took a while to get started.

He is 100 percent a group fireplace and seems that he could be a group 1 -horse there.

The flyer of William Haggas must be supported wherever he appears.

If he stays in handicaps and sees his entry on the Bunbury Cup in Newmarket on 12 July, he deserves to be closer to 2-1 than the general 4S that now kicks.

York Ebor (August 23)

I would like to see it French Duke Come on in the Ebor in York after his solid comeback run in the Duke of Edinburgh on Royal Ascot last week.

He was very well supported in 4-1, but was entangled in traffic and did not have enough time to get into the race that came around the last corner.

I think drifting a quarter of mile in the Ebor would be the perfect race for him with this under his belt.

He only had seven starts and forms as a real residenceer who could see his 99 handicap marking coming down a bit.

There are many other options and I will look forward to him on August 23 on August 23 – but I hope it went to the Knavesmire on August 23.

He could go at a big price and indeed run very well.
