Adam Lallana has announced his retirement of football after an almost two decades of career.
The Southampton Midfielder, 37, returned to his boys’ club last season.
Lallana took a temporary accusation of the saints After the resignation of Ivan Juric in April.
The 37-year-old former English star announced his decision to retire in an emotional Instagram post.
He wrote: “Since I made my professional debut in 2006, I realize that I am blessed to live the dream that millions of people share.
“While I mention time on my gaming career, I do that with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and pride.
“Southampton … the place where it all started, and fitting where it ends.
“It is the club to which I ultimately owe everything.
“[To] England … every cap meant the world to me.
“Representing my country was the greatest honor. I am proud of the gaming career I have had and I don’t regret it.

“I embrace all the highlights and all lows while they have formed me to who I am.
“To everyone who made the trip so special, the staff of every club and organization, the managers and coaches, my teammates and of course the supporters – thank you.
“But above all, for my own team … my family. My wife Emily, our wonderful sons, my mother, dad and sister, thank you for bear me and you are in my corner.
“I am enthusiastic about what the future entails.”
Lallana came through the youth ranks in St. Marys and broke as a teenager in the team.
He played a total of 283 games for Southampton over two spells, making them rise from League to the Europa League of the Europe.
Lallana came to Liverpool in 2014 for a reported £ 25 million.
He would spend the next six seasons in Anfield and win the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.
After a spell with Brighton, Lallana returned to Southampton in the summer of 2024.
He was temporarily filed in April after Juric had left after a disastrous enchanting.
