Glamorous Olympic swimmer Luana Alonso breaks her silence after reports she was kicked out of the athletes’ village for ‘inappropriate behavior’
Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has spoken out after reports emerged that she had been kicked out of the Olympic village, claiming she was the victim of “lies” and “false information”.
Alonso was accused of distracting other competitors by socializing and going scantily clad, with Officials alleged that she had created an “inappropriate atmosphere” through her behavior.
But in a statement on Instagram on Monday, Alonso said: “I just wanted to make it clear that I have never been thrown out or sent away from anywhere. Please stop spreading false information.
“I don’t want to make a statement, but I also won’t be influenced by lies,” Alonso added alongside a photo of herself enjoying a drink as the sun set.
The pretty 20-year-old blonde, who failed to qualify for the 100-meter butterfly heats, was seen walking around in the outfits she had chosen herself instead of the official uniforms provided by the Paraguayan team leaders.

She was also spotted socialising with other athletes and is said to have distracted her teammates, who were still competing in the Games.
Alonso even checked into a hotel in the French capital and visited luxury shops and restaurants, sharing photos with her 600,000 followers on social media.
Paraguayan Olympic Committee officials decided to ban her from interacting with other team members after hearing that her behavior was becoming “distracting.”
In a statement announcing Alonso’s departure, Paraguay’s Olympic Games president Larissa Schaerer said: “Her presence creates an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.
“We thank her for acting according to instructions, as it was her own free will not to spend the night in the athletes’ village.”
During her stay in Paris, she also visited Euro Disney, where she posed with a pair of Mickey Mouse ears.

Alonso announced her retirement from the sport after failing to reach the semifinals in the pool. She has since returned to the US, where she is studying political science.
Before leaving France, she stayed at the chic Hotel Pastel, near the Arc de Triomphe, and visited many of the city’s shops and museums.
Alonso also took the opportunity to watch her tennis heroes from the stands at Roland Garros, where she saw Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in action.

She announced her retirement from swimming without first telling her Olympic leaders, claiming she had made the decision before flying to France.
“Swimming: Thank you for making me dream. You taught me to fight, to try, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline and so much more,” she said.
‘I gave you a part of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, because I’ve had the best experiences of my life. You’ve given me thousands of joys, friends from other countries that I’ll always carry in my heart, unique opportunities.
“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”
