A man and a woman have been charged with the murder of their three-month-old son, who was found unconscious at home.
Police were called to the property on Percy Road in Seacombe, Merseyside, on November 24 after reports of concerns about the child.
The boy, Miguel Pirjani, was rushed to hospital with a number of serious injuries but died five days later on November 29.
Klevi Pirjani, 36, and Nivalda Santos Pirjani, 34, appeared in court in December charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and section 18 wounding.
They have now been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
They have been further remanded in custody and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, January 27.
