Woolworths Surprised Shoppers with a modern twist on the iconic Lamington.
The supermarket chain has unveiled its new caramelized cookie slamingtons, available in a package of four for $ 12 in stores throughout Australia.
The classic treat has been given a ‘glow up’, with the new version with a soft vanilla sponge, immersed in a rich caramel-garde chocolate and rolled in caramelized cookie crumbs.
“We know that Aussies love a classic Lamington, but they also like the popular taste of caramelized cookies,” said Laura McLeod, Woolworths category manager for cakes.
‘We wanted to combine the two to create an exciting new treat that feels both nostalgic and modern.
“It is the perfect mix of soft sponge and a crispy, spiced cookie coating – we think it’s a new winter favorite.”
Shoppers can enjoy the decadent treat – but it won’t be long, because it is only available in the run -up to the National Lamington Day on July 21.
Many shoppers were enthusiastic about the new creation, saying one: “I’m going to cry.”

“By combining it with our popular mud pie, we have aimed at creating an irresistible new treat.”

Aussie Foodie content makers Nick Vavitis and Nectro Vlangos shared their first impressions together in a taste test video.
Nick said the cake was’ loaded with cookies on top ‘and packed’ full of choc chips’, the taste descriptive as’ absolutely breaking [his] Taste buds. ‘
Nectro agreed and said that it “gets you in the face right away” and compares the dessert with “a huge chocolate chip muffin,” with a caramel ganache -that contributes to the wealth.
