I am shocked that we went so long without the gesture of the wrist film on the Apple Watch

Certainly, Watchos 26 brings Apple‘s Liquid Glass looks to your wrist, a’ workout -buddy ‘to give you a voice of trust or a push to hit a personal record during a training, and a number of new message functions. The only thing that is cool, but it is one of the more basic updates, I have the most jazzed, and I have had the chance to try it out.
If you look like me, when a barrage of weak notifications comes through, or really notifications that are not super urgent, I feel the buzz on my wrist and ignore it or place the palm of my other hand over the Apple Watch To reject them. So far that has worked well, but the newest gesture from Apple brings things to the next level.
‘Pols film’ is exactly how it sounds – when a report comes through, you will simply drop your wrist back to reject it. You can also use it to go one step everywhere in the interface of the Apple Watch, or to conclude incoming calls or silence, whether they are mobile or facetime.
So, say you check the weather app for the prediction, but you have to go back, bypass your wrist twice. Once you take you back to the launcher and another brings you back to your watch.
It will be with people like Double tap When it comes to Watchos 26, which will arrive this fall (probably in September or October). Although it is now available in developer Beta, it will be sent with the public beta, this month expects July 2025.
To be clear, the developer’s beta is very much what the name implies – it is an early version of the software and is not recommended for installation on your primary device, because you can expect bugs, delays, gears and instability. It is simply not a definitive software, but rather an early view.
In my fast demo in Apple Park in a briefing after the WWDC KeynoteI quickly master ‘wrist film’, and I suspect that as soon as it comes to your wrist, it becomes a daily habit. It is just combining something that you would expect with a gesture, making it easier to navigate through the Apple Watch without touching the screen or rejecting a notification or two.
You need a relatively new Apple Watch to see ‘Polplelfilm’ appear with the Watchos 26 update: This works on the Apple Watch series 9” Apple Watch series 10And Apple Watch Ultra 2. Interesting is that there is no support for the Apple Watch SE or the Original Apple Watch UltraBecause the function requires the S9 or S10 chip inside. For some, that can be a reason to upgrade to a newer Apple Watch.
Further characteristics
I am enthusiastic about ‘wrist film’, but in the eyes of Apple it is probably not one of the flag addicts for Watchos 26.
In a demo I saw the AI-driven trainer speak in a style similar to a part of the Best fitness+ trainers (shout at Jessica Skye), who were used to train the model. They intervene at important moments during training: in the beginning to set the stage, in the middle at different milestones and at the end.
The function is to sometimes offer a push, but more a dose of encouragement. The trainer I heard was very spicy; She knew the day and time, and noticed that we were going a Monday evening training and at the end told me that I had brought it all the way home. It is a nice upgrade that I think I will work out more.
There is also the Liquid glass interface And smart hints – subtle icons that appear on the bottom of your watch face or at the top of the interface, suggesting actions. So if you use the camera app on your iPhone, a message on your wrist may remind you that you can operate the shutter in this way.
It all comes together for a fairly fascinating software -upgrade for the Chief Wearable from Apple, but I think you can find wristbilst as a highlight. And if you like an Apple Watch that is able to have this function, thanks Amazon Prime Day 2025 On the horizon there is a deal to close: the Apple Watch Series 10 is back to the lowest price we have seen.
